Turning data into insight and action: using assessment data effectively

This course supports teachers to move beyond scores and grades to use assessment data as a meaningful tool for improving teaching, learning, and curriculum design. It explores how different forms of assessment generate different types of evidence, and how this evidence can be interpreted to inform responsive classroom practice and long-term planning.

Teachers will examine how formative and summative assessment data can be designed, analysed, and communicated clearly to learners, parents, and colleagues. The course emphasises identifying patterns, misconceptions, and strengths, and using these insights to adapt lessons, sequences, and priorities without increasing workload.
